About PDA  

At PDA our most important assets do not come in a road case and won’t appear on a spec sheet or a rider. Our best assets are our people. The PDA professionals are here because they love what they do, and their rare combination of creative talents, technical ability, and people skills are our greatest source of pride.  

PDA Founders Jeff Nickles and Jerry Seay were childhood friends who grew up together in the same neighborhood and in the same church. In fact, their first work together was at Westminster Church in 1974, operating the lights for a Christian Rock Band using Jerry’s homemade lighting console. It all worked okay, except for the fact that it was not properly grounded and shocked the heck out of you whenever you tried to use it. Needless to say Jeff and Jerry have come a long way in the past 32 years.

Jeff Nickles – President

Jeff is a Charleston native who grew up living in the Lowcountry. Jeff began his lighting career around the age of 12, when he began lighting up his parent’s house for Halloween. He and Jerry Seay did there first gig together at age 15 at their church, and the rest is history. Jeff later attended the College of Charleston where he majored in Theatre. Jeff has lit everything from aircraft carriers, bridges, films, touring acts, ballets, circuses, to Presidents and Presidential hopefuls. He enjoys flying, boating, and spending time with his family (and yes, he still lights up his house at Halloween). Contact Jeff
